You hung that old coat up to dry last spring
But soon you'll need something to keep you warm
You boxed up all of those old memories
You're afraid to open up that rusty door
But that's what it's there for

Remember when we were at the end
It was way back then that we saw our options
All alone, we were so alone
That's when He showed us what we could be

So let's open up this time capsule of pain
Our broken bandages stopped working long ago
Our hidden demons are looking straight at us
Don't you think it's time they know where they can go?

So tear down my fortress; what have I to fear?
There's nothing in that darkness I don't already know
See I've been down that dark alley of shadow and death
And it's only made me grow
And what is more, this time this love is lighting up my path
