Dying Flower
by Dan

Perfect smile
The shining flower crowns your lovely hair
Perfect tragedy
Unsatisfied with not going anywhere
I am wondering the same thing that you are
I am begging you “Oh, please don’t go this far!”
But you lay down your cross
Innocence lost

Perfect Music
Waiting in your soul for all to see
But you choose not to use it
Trading joy for chords of sorrow and retreat
But they won’t set you free
And as the flower blooms so premature and weak
You gaze inside to see if it holds what you seek
And you lay down your cross
Innocence lost

And as the dying flower falls
You slam against the wall
Breathing harder than you ever have before
And as the loneliness retreats
You are forced to meet
The nightmare you’ve tried so hard to ignore
Do you wish you were alone again?

Perfect sacrifice
No broken bloom uncovered in Your
Perfect sacrifice
Perfect sacrifice
No broken bloom uncovered in Your
Perfect sacrifice
And I am wondering exactly who You are
And I am begging you “Oh, God don’t go this far!”
But they give You my cross
And You fall to the ground
Then I carry it with You
Innocence found
